The toolbox should be compatible and big enough to carry all the tools and cables. Some people prefer a wheel toolbox, but we suggest a regular robust box.

The most impotent tool for a control engineer is a laptop. Most of our work is programming and project management, and we sometimes need to run a few VMware simultaneously. This is why we need a robust computer.

External HDD
Make it a role to always back up all your work. It will be a time that you will need to transfer files to another computer, to a colleague, or to a client. 1TB will be the minimum size you will need.

You will want to simulate a control system in your office before it runs in the field. For that, a switch will be needed. Connect the PLC, RIO, and Panel to an undamaged plug-and-play switch.
Power Supply 24VDC
A lot of the equipment in the control and automation world uses 24VDC voltage. You want the option to test a device in your office.
